Privacy Policy for Walkdown
Effective date: 1 July 2026
Walkdown ("the App") is developed and operated by bloko s.r.o. ("we", "us", or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the App handles, how it is stored, and the choices you have. We have designed Walkdown to be local‑first and privacy‑respecting: your job data lives on your own device and in your own private iCloud account. We do not operate any server that receives, stores, or sells your content.
By using Walkdown you agree to the practices described in this policy.
Summary
We do not run a backend. There is no Walkdown account to create and no Walkdown server that collects your data.
Your data stays with you. It is stored locally on your device and in your private iCloud account, managed by Apple under Apple's terms — we cannot read it.
No advertising, no profiling, and no cross-app tracking.
No data is sold or used for advertising, ever.
We use privacy-preserving anonymous analytics to improve the app.
Information the App handles
Walkdown helps you document site visits by organizing photos, voice notes, and notes into jobs, and exporting them as PDF reports. To do that, the App works with the following information that you create or capture:
Content you create
Jobs, issues/items, titles, notes, and other text you type into the App.
Photos you take with the camera or attach from your library.
Voice recordings you make, and the speech‑to‑text transcripts generated from them.
Location data
When you capture a photo or voice recording, the App may attach the GPS coordinates (latitude/longitude) of where it was taken, so your reports can show where each issue was documented.
Location is captured only at the moment you take a photo or recording. The App does not track your location in the background or build a location history.
This data is stored alongside the photo/recording as part of your job and is included in reports you generate.
Device permissions used
The App requests the following permissions only when needed for a feature you use:
Camera - To take photos of site issues to attach to your reports.
Microphone - To record voice notes attached to an issue.
Speech recognition - To transcribe your voice notes into text.
Location (while in use) - To tag photos and recordings with where they were captured.
Photo Library (if used) - To attach existing photos to a report.
Notifications - To deliver app notifications, if you enable them.
Where your data is stored
On your device
All of your content is stored locally on your device using Apple's on‑device storage (SwiftData). This is the primary copy of your data.
In your iCloud (optional)
Walkdown includes an iCloud Sync setting that is under your control. When enabled, your data is synchronized through Apple iCloud (CloudKit) into the private database of your own iCloud account, so it stays available across your devices and is backed up by Apple.
This data is stored in your personal iCloud account and is governed by and iCloud terms.
We have no access to your iCloud data. We cannot view, retrieve, or recover it.
If you turn iCloud Sync off, no further data is sent to iCloud.
We do not transmit your content to any servers operated by us or by any other third party.
How your information is used
Your information is used only to provide the App's features, specifically:
Organizing your jobs, issues, photos, and recordings.
Transcribing voice notes into searchable text.
Tagging entries with capture location and time.
Generating PDF job reports that you choose to create.
Syncing your data across your own devices, if iCloud Sync is enabled.
We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or analytics, and we do not sell or rent it to anyone.
Sharing and exporting reports
Walkdown lets you export your jobs as PDF reports and share them using the standard iOS share sheet (for example via email, Messages, AirDrop, or saving to Files). When you share a report, you control where it goes and who receives it. Any service you choose to share through (such as your email provider) handles that content under its own privacy policy. We are not involved in that transfer.
Third‑party services
Apple iCloud / CloudKit — used only if iCloud Sync is enabled, to store your data in your own iCloud account.
Apple speech recognition — used to transcribe your voice notes. Transcription happens on your device.
Apple AI (Foundation Models) — used to generate summaries of your transcriptions and report content. Processing happens on your device when possible; for some requests the content may be sent to Apple's Private Cloud Compute, a secure Apple server that processes the request and is designed not to store, share, or retain your data afterward. Apple AI features in Walkdown are only available when Apple Intelligence is enabled on your device. These features are optional and remain under your control. If Apple Intelligence is disabled on your device, Walkdown will not use Apple’s AI services. You can enable or disable Apple Intelligence at any time through your device settings.
We do not integrate any third‑party advertising, crash‑reporting, or tracking SDKs.
Analytics
We use TelemetryDeck (TelemetryDeck GmbH, Germany), a privacy-focused analytics service, to understand how the app is used so we can improve it.
TelemetryDeck only receives anonymous usage signals that we explicitly send, such as app launches, screens viewed, features used, and aggregate counts of how many jobs, items, and photos exist in the app. It never receives your content: job names, client details, notes, photos, or locations always stay on your device and in your private iCloud account.
A per-install identifier is hashed before it leaves your device and hashed again on TelemetryDeck's servers, so it cannot be traced back to you or linked across other apps. No IP addresses are stored. This data is not used for advertising or tracking, and is never sold or shared with data brokers. For details on how this data is processed, see TelemetryDeck's Privacy Policy.
Data retention and deletion
Your data remains on your device until you delete it (delete individual items/jobs, or delete the App).
If iCloud Sync is enabled, deletions you make sync to your iCloud account.
Deleting the App removes its local data from that device. Data stored in your iCloud account is managed by you through your Apple ID / iCloud settings.
Because we have no servers and no copy of your data, there is nothing for us to delete on your behalf.
Children's privacy
Walkdown is a productivity tool intended for professional use and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Security
Your data is protected by your device's security (passcode/Face ID/Touch ID and device encryption). Data synced via iCloud is protected by Apple's security infrastructure and your Apple ID credentials. We recommend keeping your device and Apple ID secured with a strong passcode and two‑factor authentication.
Your rights
Because your data stays on your device and in your own iCloud account, you remain in direct control of it at all times. You can view, edit, export, or delete your data within the App, and manage your iCloud copy through your Apple ID settings. Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or CCPA), you may have additional rights regarding personal data; since we do not hold a copy of your data, those rights are exercised directly by you on your device and through Apple.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Effective date" date above and, where appropriate, provide notice in the App or on the App Store listing. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
